narrative: A runaway balloon and a wayward boy... (Rivo’s side of the story). If you will remember, after Captain Nee ditched the bird, a signal balloon was launched... to call for help. // scene: The boys look at Rivo as he holds the balloon string… The damaged LAMAV is in the background.
narrative: From out of nowhere a balloon appeared, floating with the wind... // scene: In a park at a family picnic a balloon floats out from behind the distant trees…
narrative The problem was, Mr. Rivo was attached, and the question became... why didn’t he just
let go? // scene: Holding onto a signal balloon, Mr. Rivo floats away…
narrative: Well it seems that in all the excitement of launching the balloon, somehow, Mr. Rivo got his hand tangled in some sort of ‘Clove Hitch’ knot... securing him to the balloon and an adventure.. // scene: Mr. Rivo struggles…
narrative: As his weigh pulled the string taught, the string constricted around his wrist stopping his circulation, turning his hand purple.
narrative: Remembering Boy Scouts, and the motto; “Be Prepared.”
He remembered knots... of all things. The one thing that caused his plight could also save him. Reaching down and grabbing the end...
narrative: of the balloon’s string and working with both hands, he tied
an overhand loop knot to form a stirrup. Slipping his foot into the loop and allowing his foot to take most of the pressure of his wrist. While working with his free hand to undo the loops around his tangled wrist.
narrative: At any rate, it worked. And he proceeded to float into the city... // scene: Mr. Rivo floats past an ‘Advertise Here’ billboard while clinging to a balloon string that is attached to a red balloon.
