scene: Holding onto a signal balloon, Mr. Rivo floats away…
narrative: Having sent up a signal balloon, all Captain Nee and Verter could do was to wait.
// scene: In a park at a family picnic a balloon floats out from behind the distant trees…
narrative: It was within minutes of the balloon’s launch that the first crows took notice. But again these were not ordinary crows, they were LAMAVs (Low Altitude Micro Air Vehicles) piloted by the Alien Fliers. Upon first spotting the balloon the bird’s navigator would have identified set points of landmarks, triangulated with the relative location of the floating balloon. From the navigator’s calculations and flying into the wind, it did not take long before the cackle of caws and croaks filled the air. Mr. Rivo’s bird had been located.
