scene: Verter is carrying Rivo on his right shoulder, there are no spiders, they have traveled far to get clear and away.
narrative (commentary): Vocal whispers (remember whispers)... // scene: Verter has freed Rivo from the webs that bound him. // caption: [Verter] I think we’re far enough away... // Let’s free you from what binds you, Mr. Rivo.
caption: [Verter] Mr. Rivo. By looking in your eyes, I can read your thoughts like a book... // So, say it, Mr. Rivo!! Say it!!! Get it off your chest!! Say it!...
caption: [Mr. Rivo] “Why did you leave me?! I could have been eaten by those spiders…” //
“Why did you leave me, Verter?” // “You were NEVER in harms way Mr. Rivo. Never. I needed a knife to cut that web... Besides a spider won’t kill you. You are worth more to them alive, than dead... remember that.”
scene: Verter is standing, talking with Rivo who is seated on the ground, as they flashback to the scene of yesterday’s strip. As Mr. Rivo dangled from a spider’s web. // caption: [Verter] “Now think back Mr. Rivo... What do you remember? What was happening around you?”
scene: They flashback as Rivo begins to tell his story. // caption: [Mr. Rivo] “Well, I remember
waking up, upside down. Bound tight as a drum. And because I was upside down, below me... I mean above me, I could sense movement. But then... It started... in the distance, but you could hear it…”
caption: [Mr. Rivo] “It started out as a buzzing sound. But, not a “B” buzz... it was more like a “Z” buzz. Z-z-z-Z-Z-z-z-z-z-Z-z-z-z-z-Z-Z-Z-z-z-z-z. And then the buzzing got real close, when suddenly... BAM! Something hit the web. The spider raced towards the buzzing sound, which now, was in a feverish pitch. I was bouncing up and down…”
scene: The boys continue to talk, as Rivo finishes his thought… // caption: [Mr. Rivo] “as if I were attached to a bungee cord... cuz I was! And there was a fight between the spider and the buzz. The buzz
lost. It fell silent and the spider came back to its resting spot. That happened five times before you showed up, Verter. 5 times.” // caption: [Verter] “Mosquito Bait... You were nothing more than mosquito bait, Mr. Rivo. Mosquito Bait…”
