narrative (commentary): Shop // PIE 101 // Building a Planetary Invader/Explorer
narrative (commentary): Okay. Are we ready? Today you will need all your materials & supplies.
narrative (commentary): Step 1) Get the plates that you drew on yesterday, and poke small holes in the center of each plate (this is for the center axis “Golf Tee”). Take the golf tee and push through the bottom side of the bottom halve and place it so that it sits in front you as if you were going you eat off it.
narrative (commentary): Step 2) Now get your lump of clay. How insignificant that sounds, “A lump of clay.” But without it, this spacecraft wouldn’t fly. Roll a small piece of clay in your hands, so that it makes thick axel. Push the clay, centered over the golf tee. Leave enough of the golf tee showing so that center hole of the top half can locate and slide into place. Push the top plate down the axel so that there is no gap between the top & bottom halves of the spaceship.
narrative (commentary): Step 3) Now staple at two opposite sides of the starship. This will hold the plates in place while you tape the edges with the tape that is on the wax paper strips.
narrative (commentary): Step 4) Now we just wait for tomorrow’s class when we do the Test Flights.
narrative (commentary): See You then.
narrative (commentary): Currently in Class // scene: Packed class today. Standing room only, (plus you, the reader).
